A new name was going on the Honours Board as Dave Dickinson and Dudley Davies played in their first Gents Singles Final at Javea Green. This was the last match to be completed and what a finish they gave the watching Members. Dudley set the early pace leading 5-0 but then it looked all over as Dave won 8 of the next 9 ends to lead 18-8. Those who know how tenacious Dudley can be will not be surprised that he hung in and won 7 of the next 9 ends and the match was poised at 20-20. The winning shot came from Dave and for his overall brilliant performance he deserved to be crowned Gents Singles Champion.
